At 17 years old I was mid A levels and my parents decided to move to Wales. We lived in Portsmouth and I decided to stay. A decision I never regretted. It made me realise when you need to, you can do and achieve anything\u2026 no apologies, total conviction, belief in yourself and the confidence to be the person you want to be\u2026 not the person others expect you to be.
40 years on I have had a great career, having run small and large businesses but my greatest achievement was realising when my mum needed me more than my work. Many people asked how can you give up the job of a senior exec running an \u00a3800 million pound company. Simple, I realised what was more important, the gift of time with my mum who was declining with Alzheimer\u2019s.
I am and will forever be unapologetic for making that choice.

He is the best he can be every day, loves life, and has never allowed anything to get in his way. He has been totally blind for the past 5 years and I am so proud of him<\/p>
